McDonald’s is finally bringing back the cult-favorite Snack Wrap after decades. The fan’s favorite McDonald’s Snack Wrap will be back on the menu by 2025. However, the exact date of the comeback is not revealed yet. One of the most favorite Snack Wraps made its debut on McDonald’s menu in 2006.

Later in 2016, it was removed from the nationwide menu of the burger & wraps food chain. Since then, fans have been signing petitions to bring back their favorite wrap. The Snack Wrap had lettuce, chicken, and cheese wrapped with tortilla, which turned out to be a cult favorite of many customers in the US.
Why Did McDonald’s Say Goodbye to the Snack Wrap in the US?
Snack Wrap was launched in 2006 and its first marketing campaign features supermodel Heidi Clum. Later, the wrap was available in beef protein options with chicken. In 2013, the beef version of the wrap was dropped from the menu and the original Snack Wrap was removed in 2016. However, some franchises kept the wrap in their menu till 2020.
In 2015 Bloomberg reported that preparation time was the major reason behind dropping it from the menu. Many franchises complained that it took too much time to boil tortillas, chop the chicken, and fill the wrap, which had nine varieties. One manager said, the complexity of wrap doubled the service time of each customer set by corporate policy and came out as a nightmare for many stores.
Fan Petition Brings Back Snack Wrap
On November 5, Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s US said on “Good Morning America” that Snack Wrap will return to the menu in 2025. He also said, “It has a cult following. I get so many emails in my inbox about this product.” Fans have been signing petitions online for years to bring back their favorite wrap.
The “comeback” announcement came after several fan petitions, including one signed by more than 18,000 people on Change.org. Erlinger didn’t confirm the relaunch day and said, “I’m not going to tell you exactly when in 2025 for competitive reasons.
McDonald’s E. Coli Scare: What Happened?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the E.coli outbreak was linked to the onions used for McDonald’s Quarter Pounders which sickened more than 100 people. The outbreak forced the brand to pause the sale of Quarter Pounders for a week, resuming them with onions. But this time yellow onion supplier Taylor Farms was prompted to recall all the yellow onions.
Acknowledging the issue, Erlinger apologized to customers and said, “We let people down and I am sorry to all of our customers who were harmed by this incident.
McDonald’s Menu Rollercoaster: Relaunching Favorites Like There’s No Tomorrow!
This Isn’t McDonald’s First Time Reviving Fan-Favorite Menu Items! Earlier this year, McDonald’s said that it would bring back holiday pie, which was launched in 1999 for promotion of “Toy Story 2.” The fan-favorite holiday pie is made of custard inside the crust which is glazed with sugar syrup and decorated with rainbow sprinkles. It’s available in markets of Seattle, Los Angeles, St. Louis, New York City, Cleveland, and Dallas for a limited time.
McDonald’s continues to surprise fans by bringing back beloved menu items like the Snack Wrap and holiday pie, fueled by fan petitions and nostalgic demand. While the Snack Wrap’s return in 2025 marks a long-awaited comeback, McDonald’s has also faced challenges, from operational issues to an E. coli scare. Despite these setbacks, the brand’s strategy of relaunching fan favorites reflects its commitment to listening to customers and adapting its menu to stay relevant in a competitive market.
