On March 14, Samsung informed its fans that the Awesome Galaxy A event will be streamed live starting at 10 a.m. EDT on March 17.
The South Korean electronics giant did not divulge any details except to admit that the Galaxy A series devices have been designed “to provide the full-loaded experience that people want from a smartphone.”
The company will be live streaming the event on its official YouTube channel and will provide updates via Samsung Newsroom.
The company acknowledges the stupendous success of the Galaxy series on its site with the statement, “The Galaxy A series is Samsung Electronics’ most popular smartphone category, leading the democratization of Galaxy innovations that is giving people the power to create, connect and thrive.”
New Releases
Samsung is expected to launch a new range of Galaxy-A series smartphones. Experts believe the company will unveil the Galaxy A73, A53, and A33 during the Galaxy unpacked event.
The Samsung Galaxy A73
It is rumored that the A73 will have a Super AMOLED screen of 6.7 inches with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. It will be powered by Android 12 and One UI 4. The battery is expected to be around 500mAh with fast charging of 33W. The camera is expected to have four sensors in the rear with the main one being 108MP, and the front facing selfie to be 32MP. The Samsung Galaxy A53
The Samsung Galaxy A53 has gone on sale in some countries before receiving an official release. It has a 6.52-inch display and runs on One UI 4 on top of Android 12. It also boasts of four rear cameras, including a 64MP main camera, and a 32MP front facing camera. Industry experts believe it is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1200. The phone is priced at around $400.
The Samsung Galaxy A33
The Galaxy A33 is expected to be the most budget friendly of the lot with a 6.4-inch 90Hz 1080p OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery. It is widely believed that the phone will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 128 and will have an octa-core CPU. With four rear cameras and a 32MP selfie camera, it is expected to retail for around $417.
The new phones are expected to receive three years of system updates and four years of security updates. They are also rumored to have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, making them extremely durable and guaranteeing protection from the elements.
Samsung Galaxy Launches
Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S series has always been in the news for its premium offerings. However, it is the mid-range A-series that has had the best sales. According to Counterpoint Research, in 2021, the Samsung Galaxy A12 was the sixth best selling smartphone in the world. The company released the entry-level Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A23 in Europe last week. In March 2021, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy A52 and A72 smartphones at an event.
A few days back, Samsung announced that its latest Android skin, One UI 4.1, which first debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, will soon be made available to other Galaxy devices. It is replete with bug fixes and other optimizations that will make one’s device a powerhouse. As per the written statement issued by the company, the update will be extended to the S20 series, Z Fold, Z Flip, Note series, S10 series, A series and Tab S series.
The smartphone maker has not released any specifications about its products for the March 17 event, but has urged fans to tune in to the event for timely updates.
